Celeste Reading

Celeste stretched out to read the Ensign.  Right before we could snap a picture she sat up and finished her reading like this.  She enjoys turning the pages in books.

Toenails

Anna Elise wanted to paint my toenails and I told her she could do whatever she wanted.  I think I like the glitter!

Haircut

I know everyone probably saw this on Facebook already - but I want to get the pictures on the blog.  So you get to see them again!  I went in thinking I might get it cut shorter but really wasn't sure what I wanted and this is the haircut that my stylist suggested.  It's a bit sassier then usual for me and a lot shorter then I intended, but I LOVE it!  I do!  Mike doesn't  - but I'm adjusting to having him not like
 my hair ;).

Purse?

Celeste has always loved the silverware basket in the dishwasher.  Now that she is walking (everywhere) she likes to carry it with her.  I told the kids it's her purse!

Blast from the Past

Madeline requested a side pony-tail today for church.  I tried to talk her into a side ponytail that was low and behind her ear - those are so cute!  But no, she wanted one high up on the side of her head.  What could I say?  I have memories of wearing a high side ponytail when I was a kid.  So we gave it a try.  She was so happy!  Madeline will probably always have her own style and she is just easing me into it.

Daddy

Celeste's first official word is Daddy or Dada.  I think her first word was hi (it comes out hiya).  She uses it appropriately, but it sounds like a lot of the jibberish sounds she makes too.   We'll let Mike count Dada as the first word.  It's hard to hear it in the video since she is more anxious to go see Dad, then say it.   Video

Eyes, Ears, Mouth and Nose

Celeste is growing and becoming more aware of her head.  Here she is with her fingers in her mouth.  She has been chewing on her fingers and drooling like crazy while she has been teething.  Last week her right top tooth came in.  Just today the corner of her left one finally broke through.  I am hoping that in a couple of days the whole thing will cut through and she will get happier and much less clingy!

Just in the last day or two she has discoverd her eyes.  She tries to touch them without poking herself and it's hilarious to watch her try to figure it out.  She is getting more coordinated.

We've also taught her where our noses are.  If she touches someone's nose she expects them to say 'beep'.  She's also made the connection and expects you to make the same 'beeping' noise if she can find her own nose with her finger.

She also like to stick her fingers in her ears and up her nose - which the kids think is funny.  She is always enertaining!
