Some Funnies

Anna Elise is getting to have quite the imagination. A while ago we were in the car and passed
a man walking with a limp and using a cane. She asked what was wrong and I told her I didn't know. So she said "maybe a tree branch fell on his leg and his leg broke off. Maybe he tried to glue it back on and he didn't do a good job so it's starting to fall off again, maybe that is what happened". All I could say was maybe! You never know!

It's been very warm here - up in the 80's on some days (sorry for all of you still having cold and snowy weather!). So we've been wearing sunscreen when we go outside. Anna Elise asked me why. I told her it helps us not get sun burned and protects our skin. She wanted to know how it worked and my simple explanations were not cutting it. Honestly, I don't know how sunscreen works! So I finally said I don't know. She said "Mommy you are not a good mommy! Mommies are suppose to know everything so you are not a good Mommy knower". She was quite offended when I burst out laughing. She wanted to know why that was so funny!

Calvin does things that are funny much later. At the time - they are not funny! Like a few days ago when I relented in the grocery store and bought Barbie and Cars fruit snacks (I'm easily worn down in the grocery store when I am pregnant!). So, the next day they had been allowed to have one pack each. Then later that day we'd run errands and Calvin had thrown a fit in Target and cried loudly half the time we were in there and then gotten mad that he had to ride in the cart at Home Depot, so he jumped out while I was pushing it and hurt himself. So I told Anna Elise she could pick out a treat when we got home. She picked fruit snacks and Calvin came unglued when he realized he wasn't getting any because he wasn't good. He was so upset. That night after the kids were in bed he pushed a chair into the kitchen and took about 10 packs of fruit snacks (both his and the Barbie ones) and got out a pair of scissors. I found him in his room, with his light one, sitting on his bed cutting open the bags of fruit snacks. He hadn't eaten very many - most of them were in a huge pile on his bed. I coulnd't believe it! I took all the fruit snacks back to the kitchen. He cried and cried. It suddenly got quiet so I went back to his room. He had found a couple that I missed and he was eating them. I took them right out his mouth and threw them away! I wasn't very happy. He isn't allowed to eat fruit snacks until these are gone and they talk me into getting more!

Grandma Red sent the kids a dollar each! Calvin bought suckers and shared them with Anna Elise. Anna Elise got some party mints. She saved a lot of hers because she was busy eating Calvins. When Calvin's suckers were gone he disappeared downstairs. We found him 20 minutes later with good breath and candy crumbs all over the floor. Anna Elise was so sad. I had told her earlier that if she could reach to hide them that he could reach to find them, but she didn't want Mom to hide them for her. I told her it was her fault that he ate them all because she didn't share.

Madeline doesn't say funny things yet - but she LOVES kitties. She gets down on her hands
and knees and crawls around the house saying meow. It is so cute! She is talking more and more, she says cracker, shoes, out, daddy, mama, bye-bye, and several others she is also learning animal noises. She quacks at the oddest times.

My funny was on Friday - I kicked my left heel with my right foot and cut it open. Later that
day I cut my finger, slammed a finger on the other hand in the car door (it still really hurts), and
also got a metal sliver in another finger - I ended up cutting a hole in my finger to get it out. I also stubbed my toe. I guess I haven't changed much - I've always been a clutz, but I usually don't do it all in one day!

I've Been Tagged

I was tagged weeks ago by Heidi and I've been putting this off. I decided to finally do it because I am really want to tag a couple of people myself!

My Favorite Things around the House:

My favorite thing in the kitchen is... my dishwasher. Having lived without one for over 2 years, I will never take on for granted again! I love it!

My favorite thing in the bathroom is... my shower curtain. It's so cute! It's sriped different shades of brown and it's been fun having a brown bathroom.

My favorite thing in the bedroom is... my walk in closet. It's HUGE. I keep everything in there. The only bad thing is the door doesn't lock - it also happens to be my kids favorite thing too!

My favorite thing in the kid's room... the new bunk beds we bought. The rooms are both kind of in limbo as we make some changes. I can't finish any of the changes until we know the gender of this next baby and then we can made some decisions and move on!

My favorite thing in the living room is... our fireplace and mantel. We left the fireplace brick exposed clear to the ceiling when we renovated/finished the house. It's the original mantel too and it's just a good focal point in the room!

My favorite thing in the office is... it isn't a thing, it's just the fact that the office is more Mike's then mine now that we have this business and I just like the fact that the mess is one thing I'm not responsible for!

My favorite thing in our yard is... our new fence. A few days ago when my kids went swimming in a huge and very nasty mud puddle I could strip them down naked before letting them in the house without worring about any of the neighbors seeing, kids coming over, or that lady that lives behind us telling me how horrible I am! They smelled so bad I would've stripped them without the fence, it was just nice to have the privacy!

OK - so now the good part. I tag Trina because she thinks she doesn't have anything to post about and Stephanie because she really doesn't =-)! you guys know I'm teasing, but really you both need to post something!

Popsicles!

We've introduced Madeline to popsicles and no surprise, she LOVES them. We have found that the best way to eat them is outside and without a shirt (Madeline doesn't wear a shirt, the rest of
us keep our shirts on)

Anna Elise got bunk beds last week and she loves her top bunk! We put Madeline's crib under
the top bunk to save on space. It's a good layout - as long as we don't bump Madeline's head
on the way in and out of her crib. Hopefully she will be able to adjust sleeping in a bed on the bottom in a few months.

Calvin isn't three for another week but he has been SO three these past few weeks. He has
been naughty and when I ask him why he says "because I wanted to". He has spent a lot of time in his room, in 'time out', and has lost privledges. I will eventually find something that works!

Madeline is our little flirt! She smiles and ducks her head at everyone. She'll go to anyone. She just chatters away and talks to anyone who will listen. When we are in public she just looks for
people to smile at. It's a bit worrisome to have one that is too friendly.

We got our fence finished this week. The kids love it! I love being able to send the older two
outside and not have to go with them! We also enjoy the privacy. We should've done it earlier!

I think I'm well over due for a post! It's been a crazy week for us. Although I have been feeling
'better' as in better then before, I'm certainly not myself. This saliva thing is driving me nuts, I feel sick and gag becauseof the amount of salvia I am swallowing and that is in my mouth! However, I am cooking more and my house is cleaner, but not clean!

On Friday I went for my bi-weekly walk, got the kids ready and the house cleaned up and headed out. First we had to go pick up our packets for the 10k. I made Mike walk it with me to support a cancer survivor in our branch. Picking up our packets was crazy! There were hundreds of people picking up packets, with traffic cops and everything. Luckily it was stroller friendy. We got our timing chips, bibs, shirts, bags, walked through the expo and made it back to the car without losing anyone or anything! Then we picked up lunch and went to the home show where Mike was manning our business' both. He joined us for lunch and then the kids and I wandered through the home show and looked at the booths and displays while he went back
to work. We finally headed out to Walmart for our weekly shopping trip. It was just too much for me and the kids we went home and crashed until it was time to make dinner!

On Saturday Mike and I walked the 10k. Mike really didn't like it and I didn't make my goal - but it was set prepregnancy and I'll have to try it again next year. Today we are paying for it with sore muscles. Poor Mike had to go stand at his home show booth for six hours before priesthood and unforutnatley he is there again today. His feet are not doing so good.

We don't have cable or anything to get conference. However, we can watch it on the internet and we do have a projector - so this time Mike bought the cable we needed to hook the laptop to the projector and we watched conference on the wall like a 'big movie' as the kids say. Madeline was fascinated by the movie - for a few minutes.

I seem to be taking a lot of pictures of Madeline lately...her favorite place to be is on the dishwasher door 'helping' mom with the dishes.

I have more Madeline pictures, but it's bedtime so they will have to wait!
