Our lovely Lilah was not quite so lovely this week. She is really regressing with her potty training to the point where I'm ready to put her back in diapers (but I won't). She won't stay in bed at night (she tries to climb in bed with everyone else) and today she redecorated her room and gave herself a make over during nap time. Calvin came and told me she had found a red marker and drawn on everything. Luckily it was one Anna Elise's old school markers and although it's not technically washable - it kind of washed off. She drew all over her wall, window frame, sill, blinds not to mention the window. She drew on stuffed animals, books, and all over herself. She had marker on her face, hands, and stomach. Later when we were getting her ready for bed we found drawing down her back - at that point I clued in that she'd had some help! Calvin had apparently found her and then joined in and then told me about it. We think he drew on her back and helped her with her stomach and she did the rest - but you never know. It was exasperating when I thought Lilah did it, it's less cute when your 5 year old helped!
Lilah has learned to open her bedroom door this week so nap time is even less fun for mom now. She has decided to undress at night, and is throwing real temper tantrums now. We sure love the two's! It's a good thing she is so cute!

Love the picture. She is very cute. I hope she is more lovely this week. Can you lock her in her room somehow?
She'd fit right in with my Brennen and Camden :). Found a gate at Ikea that has vertical slats that we put up in their doorway and then we add another pressure mounted gate above that one--THE only way we could keep them in their room. They can pull themselves up and over the first gate (their upper body strength is amazing), but with the added gate on top, there's not enough room to clear it and the gate on the bottom keeps them from getting a foothold and scaling both gates (like they did with our original set up) :). Gotta love the the 2's...wondering what the 3's will bring us :) LOVE the pic, though-she's pretty darn cute--especially with marker all over her belly! OH, and the comment about her undressing herself at night is so Camden. We'd find him totally asleep in his bed stark naked. He now only wears footed pj's and we safety pin them at the top so he can't unzip them :). Tried duct taping his diaper shut or pinning his diaper to his pj bottoms, but he still just figured out how to wiggle out of them...crazy kids!
Craziness. Remember when she use to be your sweetest, happiest, and most smiley baby!
Your story reminds me of all the crazy things Lilly did when she was two... as a matter of fact she still does some of those things!!
You really are a super mom!
her little piggie tails look like horns!! Is that just a coincidence? I remember Marci taking a red marker and coloring her daddy's face while he napped one Sunday afternoon - he had to go to church with red marker (UNwashable) on his face for Sacrament meeting. Memories! I love your blog posts. Hang in there!
Henry keeps waking up close to naked as well. He's still in his crib because for some reason he likes it and I know he's safe in it. Once we take him out we may need to lock him in his room. I hate doing that, but he's at the top of a staircase and it makes me nervous in the night!
Wow. What a wonderful week you had!!!
When my lovely barely two year old daughter colored on herself (and the baby swing and her brand new dolly) I took writing utensils away from her. For good. It was 6 months before she was allowed ANYTHING again. You might not choose to be so extreme but I bet you can empathize. =)

When my children have been in the wandering stage at night, we have turned the bedroom door knobs around so the lock is on outside...our side. Then we can lock them in and it also means they won't escape at nap time. It is a temporary remedy to make sure they get it in their heads that sleeping time is serious business and they need to stay in their room, in their bed!
